An Atlantic City police officer was injured when her parked patrol car was struck by an allegedly drunken driver and then he allegedly kicked officers at the scene.

Officer Priscilla Murray was inside the car at a traffic post on Route 40 when it was hit by another vehicle at about 3:30 a.m., Sgt. Monica McMenamin said.

Jayesh Patel, 46, of Mays Landing, was charged with driving under the influence, assault on police and assault by auto.

His bail was set at $35,000.

Murray had neck and back injuries, McMenamin said.
