American Idol" season 11 alumni Jermaine Jones will perform at Atlantic City’s inaugural holiday music concert Tuesday evening.

Jones, 25, lives in Pine Hilll, Camden County, but his mother Katrice Cornett works for Atlantic City High School.

The event runs 5 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Center Citi Park, South Carolina and Atlantic avenues. Other performers include the Cason Express Show Band, according to a statement from the city Special Events Office.

Atlantic County Toys for Kids will distribute 100 toys for children ages 1-12, plus raffle two bikes and two sets of four Dolphin Watchers tickets from Atlantic City Cruising.

Tony Baloney’s will provide refreshments.

The $1,700 being spent on the event will cover costs of food so the crowd can eat for free as well as the appearances by Jones and the band, city Special Events Coordinator Shelia Harvey said.

“During these hard economic times, the city of Atlantic City decided to do this event for the community in the hope it will shed some light and some joy, and healing,” Harvey said.
