Authorities have identified a man found dead after being shot multiple times outside a Pleasantville bar late Monday night.

Chikki Smith, 33, of Atlantic City, was pronounced dead at the scene in the parking lot outside Sam’s Rialto Bar and Grill at 18 S. Main St.

Police were called to the scene just before midnight for a report of shots fired and found Smith dead. No arrests have been made. No suspect information was released.

The killing was the third in Atlantic County within 36 hours.

At about noon Sunday, Devon Devine, 20, was fatally stabbed on the street in Ventnor. Tamasa Nobles, 18, who lived in the Wissahickon Avenue apartment Devine was stabbed in front of, has been charged with murder and weapons offenses.

Just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Abdal McBride, 18, was found shot to death in the city’s Westside. No one has been arrested in that shooting.

Smith had been out of prison for less than a year at the time of his death. State Department of Corrections records show he was released last Christmas after serving more than eight years for armed robbery and assault.

He leaves behind at least one child. A birth announcement in The Press of Atlantic City shows a daughter born in 2002.

This is the 26th homicide in Atlantic County this year, and the sixth in Pleasantville. It’s the most in the county since 2009, when 27 people were killed. There were 31 homicides in 2006, including four women whose bodies were found dumped in the marsh off the Black Horse Pike in the West Atlantic City section of Egg Harbor Township. That case remains unsolved.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit at 609-909-7666 or Pleasantville police at 609-641-6100.

Information may also be called in anonymously to 609-641-6100.
