Eight people have been arrested in Atlantic City after a group of victims robbed at a home responded by attacking the alleged robbers at a condominium, police said.

At 11 p.m. Monday, police went to the Sea Breeze Condominiums on the 3500 block of Pacific Avenue and arrested Atlantic City residents Nicholas Russo, 23, Karl Knowles, 22, Marcus Mason, 20, and Keith Garland, 22, who allegedly had assaulted Melvin K. Young, 22, of Egg Harbor City, and Jasper Walker, 20, of Mays Landing, in a room.

The two assault victims were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for nonlife-threatening injuries to the head, legs and ankles, police said. Two other occupants of the room: a 17-year-old male and Tanielle Thomas, 19, of Atlantic City, were not injured, police said.

Police investigated and said Russo, Knowles, Garland and another male victim had been in a home on the 3800 block of Ventnor Avenue an hour earlier and were robbed at gunpoint by Young — who police said also pointed the gun at a 4-year-old child. Police said Walker and the 17 year old juvenile were with Young during the robbery.

Young stole cash, wallets and cell phones, police said. Walker and the 17-year-old juvenile were with Young, police said.

Police said Russo, Knowles, Mason and Garland — armed with weapons, including a golf club, crow bar and baseball bat — entered the condo where Young was and assaulted Young and Walker. The home suffered severe damage in the fight and police recovered Young’s handgun.

Police made the following arrests:

Young, Walker and the juvenile were arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, conspiracy and four counts of armed robbery. Walker and Young were taken to the Atlantic County jail. The juvenile was transported to Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.

Thomas, who police said was not at the 10 p.m. home invasion, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, as was Walker.

Mason, Knowles, Garland and Russo were arrested on charges of armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, aggravated assault and conspiracy. They were taken to Atlantic County jail on $150,000 bail.
