PLEASANTVIILLE —- A fundraiser to help victims of the Sandy storm had children jumping up and down Wednesday.

A few local businesses got together to raise money for the American Red Cross at FroMe a Party Entertainment Center on West Delilah Road. Owner Michael Froumy said he donated the use of his business for four hours Wednesday and charged residents $20 to use the center with arcades, slides and a moon bounce.

The company worked with its sponsors, The Press of Atlantic City, Pizza Hut in Northfield and Sam's Club on the Black Horse Pike, to provide food and advertising for the event. All of the money raised was donated to the Red Cross, he said.

Betty Libby, assistant manager for Pizza Hut, said the restaurant was happy to help out.

"I think it's amazing a group of businesses can get together to help everybody," she said.

Froumy admitted there have been a lot of fundraisers lately in response to victims of the storm and he had some concerns of fatigue about these type of events, but those that came said it was a fun way to help out and that the victims of the storm are on their mind everywhere they go.

Buena resident Lanae Simmons brought her two daughters to jump on the moon bounces — she didn't know there was a fundraiser happening. She said she has helped out where she can by donating food and clothing and it was appropriate a simple task could lead to helping people recover from Sandy.

"Everywhere you go you see people affected by it," she said. "It's on everyone's minds."

John "Doc" Phillips, of Somers Point took his 10-year-old grandson Dominic Galati for a fun outing. Phillips said he has done a lot to help victims of Sandy including helping residents clean up their homes and volunteering at soup kitchens.

"We know a lot of people were affected so we want to help out," he said. "This is another way to help out but it's also fun."
