At least seven people, including two children, were displaced after a two-alarm fire damaged at least three units at an apartment building in Atlantic City.

The fire was reported just after noon in the 800 block of Baltic Avenue, Fire Chief Dennis Brooks said.

Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames when they arrived and a second alarm was called quickly, Brooks said. The fire, which started in a first-floor unit facing Baltic Avenue, was brought under control by 12:20 p.m.

Investigators are trying to confirm the cause.
