A 78-year-old driver's attempt to change lanes sparked a crash that included five vehicles Monday in Atlantic City, police said.

The crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. on the 2700 block of Arctic Avenue.

The woman was traveling east on Arctic when she changed lanes and rear-ended a pickup truck, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said. The truck was forced into a row of parked vehicles.

The woman, whose name was not immediately released, struck a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn and the airbags to deploy. The woman was conscious at the scene and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus. Her condition is unknown.

A vehicle belonging to Chester's Flower Shop was also towed from the scene.

Officer Andy Pronovost is investigating the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Traffic Unit at 347-5746.
