A small but lively group of individuals met at the Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry Workshop at the Atlantic City Free Public Library on Tennessee Avenue in Atlantic City on a recent Wednesday night. Participating in the discussions were Jerry Haden, 23, of Atlantic City; Cole Eubanks, 62, of Mays Landing; Raymond Tyler, writer and radio host who led the workshop; Cheryl Sellers, 63, of Mays Landing; and Leesa Toscano, 50, of Ventnor.
Haden said on the reason he attended the event, ‘I’m a poet, and I love poetry, plus ... I just wanted to see if people agreed with my same point of view and mentality on certain issues.’
Writer and radio host Raymond Tyler led the Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry Workshop on Jan. 16 at the Atlantic City Free Public Library. ‘The importance of (the workshop) is to go beyond what’s typically talked about during this time of year,’ Tyler said.
