Homeownership readiness seminar set

The Housing Authority and Urban Redevelopment Agency Money Management International presents “Homeward PATH,” a homeowership readiness seminar that provides credit and budget education, information on how to combat predatory lending practices, information on community down payment assistance programs, educational resources and affordable housing opportunities.

Refreshments will be provided by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Atlantic City Alumnae Chapter.

The seminar takes place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. April 23 at 912 Mediterranean Ave., at the corner of Maryland and Mediterranean avenues, in Atlantic City. To register, call 609-344-1107, ext., 204, say, “Seminar yes,” and leave your name and phone number.

A.C. Library hosts youth programs

The Atlantic City Free Public Library offers programs for youths of all ages. All programs are free. Children 9 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Call 609-345-2269, ext. 3050, for more information.

Tween Days in the Teen Lounge on April 20 at 11 a.m. – Kids are invited to play Xbox360, PlayStation3 and Nintendo Wii. Participants need a library card in good standing. Ages 9-12.

Children’s Book Club Honors Women’s History Month and Earth Day on April 27 at 3 p.m. – This program combines technology and reading in a special book club experience. Any child who joins receives a free copy of the featured book. Refreshments and crafts included. Call 609-345-2269, ext. 3050, to register. Ages 8-11.

Paws to Read with Molly the Therapy Dog on April 21 at 12:30 p.m. – Children have the chance to read to Molly the Therapy Dog in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Molly is part of Therapy Dog International’s ‘Tail Waggin’ Tutors’ program. Children with allergies or fear of dogs should not attend. Best for ages 4-10.

Preschool Rhyme Time on April 18 and 25 at 10:30 a.m. – Features stories, songs, finger plays and crafts. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Library story times are a fun way to help your child develop skills they will need to be ready to read. Ages 3-5.

Baby Bounce and Play Group on April 18 and 25 at 11:30 a.m. – This program is designed to introduce infants to the world of sounds and stories. Best suited for infants 0-24 months.

Comic Drawing on April 18 and 25 at 3:30 p.m. – Marvel DC Comic illustrator Joe Del Beato will lead the instruction. In honor of Women’s History Month, Del Beato will focus on female characters who have been featured in comics, cartoons and graphic novels during the March sessions. All materials are supplied. Ages 9-17.
