MBCA to honor Gomes
The 22nd annual Metropolitan Business and Citizens Association Installation and Awards Gala will take place Nov. 19 at Resorts Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, and the 2012 MBCA Community Spirit Award will be presented to the family of Dennis Gomes for his charitable and civic leadership and accomplishments.
Gomes, 68, of Margate, died Feb. 24 from complications of kidney dialysis. He was CEO and co-owner of Resorts. Proceeds from the event will benefit MBCA programs and services and support charitable and civic endeavors. Library trustees to meet
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Atlantic City Free Public Library will take place at noon Nov. 19 in the library’s boardroom. The library is located at 1 N. Tennessee Ave., Atlantic City.
