Library offering ESL classes

The Atlantic City Free Public Library offers several free English as a Second Language classes to library members. They are: Beginning ESL, 1 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesdays May 8-June 26; ESL for Everyone, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays, May 6-June 24 and U.S. Citizenship, 5 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesdays May 7-June 25.

eBook and eReader classes at library

The Atlantic City Free Public Library will offer Introduction to eBooks and eReaders classes at 10:30 a.m. May 29 and June 26. The classes will be located on the second floor of the Main Library.

These sessions, free and open to library members, will show attendees how to use their eReader, smartphone, tablet or personal computer to download eBooks and audiobooks from the library’s Downloadable Media Service.

Rental Housing Fair set

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs invites individuals and families displaced by Hurricane Sandy to attend the Rental Housing Fair.

The fair takes place 2 to 5:30 p.m. May 17 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, 1 Convention Blvd., Room 201. Attendees can meet with prospective landlords and Realtors on-site to discuss available housing, review listings and discuss permanent housing options. Learn about Special Admission Section 8 vouchers. Those who qualify may apply on site.

Brigantine Family Fun Day coming up

The City of Brigantine and the Brigantine Community Presbyterian Church will present the third annual Brigantine Community Family Fun Day on July 6, with a rain date of July 7.

The parade will start at 4 p.m. at the 26th Street Recreation Complex and will continue to the 15th Street Complex. Festivities will begin as soon as the parade finishes, and will conclude at 9 p.m. Activities will include music, amusement rides, games, strolling entertainers, vendors and more.

Local organizations and businesses are invited to participate in family Fun Day by setting up booths for games and activities. Interested organizations and businesses should make commitments to participate by June 12. To reserve a spot, call 609-264-7350.
