Babe Ruth sign-ups set

Open sign-ups for new Babe Ruth League baseball teams will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 20 and 21 at the Chelsea Field House at Pete Polillo Field, Sovereign Avenue and the bay. The league is for ages 13 to 15 years old, as of May 1.

Sign-ups for Chelsea Baseball T-Ball, Farm League and Little League will be held later this spring.

Internet training program

offered for seniors

The T. Byrd Center in Pleasantville is offering a four-week training program for Atlantic City residents 55 and older.

Attendees will learn the basics of doing research on the Internet for their prescription drugs and the effects of using over-the-counter drugs, alcohol, etc. Students will document their findings in a customized database and workbook that also includes information on their doctors and doctor visits.

Interested Atlantic City seniors 55 and older may register by calling 609-484-9356. Classes begin March 20, and free transportation is provided, along with a continental breakfast and all course materials.

Black History Month program

The City of Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Free Public Library will present their annual Black History Month program form 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 27 at the All Wars Memorial Building.

The theme, "A Tribute to African American Firsts," will focus on accomplishments and innovations by black Americans. The program will feature performances by the Atlantic City Theater Guild, Travis Love's Just Right Productions and New Hope Baptist Church's Dance Ministry, Angels in Disguise. Keynote speaker will be Ralph Hunter, founder and president of the African-American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey.

Faith Baptist Church marks anniversay

Faith Baptist Church will celebrate its 38th anniversary starting Feb.19, when the Chosen Vessels of Faith Baptist Church pay tribute to the Clark Sisters, and Feb. 20, when the Inspiration Choral Ensemble of Second Baptist Church Atlantic City pays tribute to the Wilmington Chester Mass Choir. Pre-Anniversary services start at 7 p.m. nightly.

The Anniversary Celebration service will take place during the 11 a.m. service Feb. 23. The Rev. Dr. Leo H. Graham of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of New Brunswick will be the guest preacher.
