GLBT Alliance hosting cruise

The Greater Atlantic City GLTB Alliance will host a cruise aboard Cruisin’ 1 on June 27.

Tickets are $30 per person in advance through or at the dock at 800 N New Hampshire Ave. if available. The cruise will last three hours and includes a cash bar, DJ dancing, raffle prizes and food catered by Carmine’s. Boarding time is 7:15 p.m. sharp. American Legion fishing tourney coming up

American Legion Post 396 of Brigantine is holding its seventh annual fishing tournament June 22, rain date June 23.

Registration is $60 per boat and will take place at 7 p.m. June 21 at the post, 3218 W. Brigantine Ave. Prizes of $500 will be awarded for largest flounder, largest total three-fish weight, largest ladies flounder and largest flounder caught by a child under 12. A winner-take-all calcutta for three fish total weight will be available for $10. There will be a buffet following the weigh-in.

Spring Arts and Crafts Fair set

The Brigantine PTA has announced that its 2013 Spring Arts and Crafts Fair will take place June 15 at the 26th Street Sports Complex, 2500 W. Brigantine Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Brigantine PTA is accepting artisan/crafter vendor applications. The craft fair will be part of a weekend of events supported by the City of Brigantine including a kite flying competition.

Proceeds support scholarships and student awards in Brigantine schools. See

Festival of Winds set

Bring the family to the Brigantine Beach 2013 Festival of the Winds, held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 15.

This festival features kite flying, plus volleyball tournaments, photography contests and more. The event is sponsored by the city of Brigantine and the photography contest sponsored by the Brigantine Cultural Arts Commission and the Beachcomber News. Kite making workshops are sponsored by the municipal alliance, held at the Brigantine Beach Community Center on June 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. A volleyball tournament will take place during the festival, with registration starting at 10 a.m. and competition starting at 11 a.m. Parking is available at 38th Street Municipal Parking or at the Brigantine Beach Community Center at 42nd Street.
