Fundraiser set for McMeekin scholarship fund
The Officer Thomas McMeekin Jr. Memorial Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians has started a college scholarship fund in McMeekin's honor.
A beef-and-beer for ages 21 and older will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. June 14 at the Vagabond Kitchen and Tap House, 672 N Trenton Ave., Atlantic City, to raise funds for scholarships. Tickets are $25 and include a buffet, draft beer donated by the Yards Brewing Co., live music outside and a DJ inside, bagpipe bands, giveaways, 50/50 raffles and more. McMeekin was killed in the line of duty while directing traffic on March 3, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, his daughter, Adria Lynne, and parents, brother and other relatives.
Theater celebration set
The South Jersey Theater Ensemble Co., producers of the musical "Yes, God Is Real," celebrate 30 years of theater production on June 8.
Patrons are invited to Dante Hall Theater, 14 N. Mississippi Ave., Atlantic City at 2 and 5 p.m.
See the premiere of their company's first film, "Don't Throw Me Away," as well as original cast members of "Yes, God Is Real," Bishop Charles Lyles, Rev. Wendy Mason-Harris, and Rev. Bill Greene (Jojo the wino). Music also by the Eddie Morgan Trio.

CER relocates June 20 concert
The Brigantine Community Education and Recreation Department has relocated the June 20 concert featuring Mary Jane Kelso, Robert Polillo and Elaine King, known as the 26th Street Edition, to the Brigantine Beach Community Center at 265 42nd St. The concert will start at 7 p.m.
The 26th Street Edition will be backed up by the Bob Ferris Orchestra. This is a free concert. For more information, call 609-264-7350.
Donny Fund Day set
The 19th annual Donny Fund Day will take place at the Yacht Club of Pleasantville on June 9.
It will consist of a 2.5-mile row, swim or paddle-surf race acrosse Lake's Bay and a 5K run/walk along the Lake's Bay shore, and takes place from 8 a.m. to noon. Entry is $25 and $15 for students and includes a T-shirt and a "Bert's Breakfast" brunch. Brunch only is $7.
