Edmund Peckiconis, of the Jersey Cape Metal Detecting Club, walked blocks of the Atlantic City beach on a recent Friday morning, with high expectations following Hurricane Sandy. ‘Erosion is good for us,’ he said.
Tony Mendyk, of Ocean View in Dennis Township, brought his metal detector to the Atlantic Beach at the first chance he could. ‘You never know, ya know?’ he said, hoping to find meaningful treasure after Hurricane Sandy.
A few hours into his search, Edmund Peckiconis found a few coins, a bottle opener and a fishing weight on the Atlantic City beach. ‘I’m surprised there’s not more,’ he said.
