PLEASANTVILLE — Six people were injured when an SUV collided with an NJ Transit bus on Route 9 near Fernwood Avenue late Monday night

Police responded at about 10:30 p.m. to the scene where a utility pole lay 25 yards down the road.

Authorities say the SUV was westbound on Fernwood and did not stop at a posted sign.

The SUV crashed into the northbound bus on Route 9, which then struck the utility pole, police said.

The bus driver and one passenger, as well as four occupants of the SUV were taken to the hospital for injuries; none were life-threatening, police said.

A total of seven passengers were aboard the bus.

Both vehicles suffered front-end damage, police said. Traffic was slow moving in the area for about three hours until the scene was cleared.
