Police are investigating shootings that sent two Atlantic City teenagers to the hospital Saturday night, police said.

One, a 17-year-old, was found with two gunshot wounds on the 100 block of North Vermont Avenue at about 8:19 p.m., police said. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where he was in stable condition, police spokeswoman Monica McMenamin said.

A little later, a second teenager, an 18-year-old who knew the other teenager, arrived at the scene and became belligerent, according to police who arrested him on charges of disorderly conduct.

The teen was brought to the police station where, as officers patted him down, he was found to have been shot in the foot, McMenamim said. He had not told police about the injury, she said. That teen also was taken to the AtlantiCare for treatment, police said.

The shootings, which are believed to have occurred at Lighthouse Plaza, 300 Atlantic Ave., remain under investigation. Anyone with information on the incidents are asked to call the Criminal Investigations Unit at 609-347-5766 or Atlantic County Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234.
