An Elmer woman admitted Thursday to not paying taxes on almost $700,000, most of which she embezzled from the Pleasantville business she worked for in 2008.

Nancy Armienti, 59, pleaded guilty in federal court in Camden to one count of tax evasion, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney General’s Office.

Armienti embezzled $589,947 from Atlantic County Concrete and Material Co. in Pleasantville in 2008 in cash and items she ordered from the shopping channel QVC, according to the plea.

She created false business expense records to hide receiving the money and did not file income taxes on the $682,129 in total income she received in 2008, authorities said.

Armienti faces as many as five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Her sentencing is scheduled for April 23.
