A 52-year-old Margate woman died Wednesday afternoon after jumping from an upper-floor balcony of a hotel, Atlantic City police said.

Police did not release the identity of the woman, stating they have yet to contact her next of kin, who lives outside the state.

Police responded to the Flagship hotel at 60 N. Maine Ave. at 2:15 p.m. Officers closed traffic at Grammercy and Maine avenues and the front of building. The investigation is ongoing.
