ATLANTIC CITY — An unidentified female who was found dead Thursday afternoon was shot, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police were called at 4 p.m. to the 1800 block of Arctic Avenue where the female was found, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said.
After police responded, the county’s medical examiner and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit also went to the scene.
“We don’t have cause or manner yet, so we believe it appears to be (a homicide) pending autopsy,” Prosecutor Ted Housel said.
The woman has not yet been identified because officials have not yet notified next of kin, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
The Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating the fatal shooting.
