Four people had to be extricated after a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in the Scullville section of Egg Harbor Township, police said.

About 12:30 p.m., Robert Reeves, 86, of the Elm section of Winslow Township, was southbound on Old Zion Road and failed to yield to a car driven by Matthew Bergeron, 22, of Egg Harbor Township, who was heading east on Zion Road.

Bergeron’s car broadsided Reeves’ car and pushed it into a minivan driven by Valorie Abo, 45, of Egg Harbor Township.

The Scullville and Bargaintown volunteer fire companies extracted Reeves, Marie Williams, 87, of Egg Harbor Township, and two other unidentified passengers from Reeves’ car.

All four were treated on the scene by AtlantiCare Paramedics and the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad.

They were transfered to AtlantiCare Regional Medical, City Campus, with moderate to serious injuries.

Traffic was detoured for more than an hour while the crash was being investigated and cleared. It remains under investigation.

The conditions of the drivers of the other vehicles are unknown.
