An initial autopsy was unable to determine what killed an Egg Harbor Township woman found dead Thursday in Egg Harbor Township’s Cardiff section.

Amber Swigert, 29, was found dead within a mile of Davenport Elementary School and the Atlantic County Training Center for Special Needs Children.

An autopsy performed Friday was unable to determine the manner or cause of Swigert’s death, Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Haleigh Walz said. A determination on whether it was a homicide is pending further testing and investigation.

Swigert’s body was discovered by a motorist who called 911. She was on the side of the road near the intersection of Fork Road and the Black Horse Pike.

Results of toxicology tests usually take about six weeks.

Anyone with information about Swigert or who may know what happened is asked to call the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-909-7666 or Egg Harbor Township police at 609-927-5200. Information may also be called in anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234.
