A father and son were arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute following an investigation by the Hamilton and Egg harbor Township police departments.

Officers arrested John Broomhead III., 27, at a home on Ocean Heights Avenue in Hamilton Township today and charged him with possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was transported to Atlantic County jail on $50,000 cash bail.

Police also arrested John Broomhead Jr. – age not provided by police - who was charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. He was released pending a court date.

Police said the search of the home was part of an ongoing investigation. Police recovered oxycodone, marijuana and approximately $4,000 in cash.
