Preliminary results from the first night of the Miss New Jersey Pageant in Ocean City show locals won two key competitions.
Miss Seashore Lines Angelica Nardi, 22, of Millville, was judged the winner of the swimsuit portion of the event, Ocean City spokesman Mark Soifer said, while Miss Avalon Kaitlyn Schoeffel, 19, of Egg Harbor Township, was declared the winner of the talent portion, performing a jazz dance to “The Way You Make Me Feel.”
Miss Cape Shores Courtney Charatsaris, 23, of Totowa, Passaic County, was named the winner of the eveningwear competition.
The second portion of the preliminaries will be held today, with the two groups of 25 contestants competing in the portions the other group completed Thursday.
Miss New Jersey 2012 will be crowned Saturday.
