Egg Harbor Township police are investigating a spree of car burglaries that took place last week in various residential areas.

More than 40 vehicles were burglarized of money and other valuables during the late evening and early morning hours, Lt. Robert Gray said in a statement.

Residents should lock their vehicles, even when parked at their homes, police said.
