Egg Harbor Township Scout Troop 389 produced rare number of Eagles - 7
Scoutmaster Bill Schmitz introduced the Eagle Scouts from Troop 389 as they gathered during Ryan Goukler’s Eagle Court of Honor on Jan. 12 held at the Margate Community Church. From left were Victor Logan, 18, of Pleasantville; Miles Clark, 18, of the Cardiff section of Egg Harbor Township; Goukler, 18, of Ventnor; Asher Nothaft, 19, of Pleasantville; Christopher Hoffman, 18, of the Bargaintown section of Egg Harbor Township; and Michael Winder, 18, of Ocean View. The seventh Eagle Scout, Vincent Varallo, of Mays Landing, was unable to attend.

Scoutmaster Bill Schmitz, center, stood with the Eagle Scouts and other members of Troop 389 for a group photograph during Ryan Goukler’s Eagle Court of Honor held at the Margate Community Church in Margate. Last year, Troop 389, based out of Atlantic Christian School in Egg Harbor Townshp, had seven members earn Eagle status, an accomplishment Schmitz said he has never seen before in his 64 years with scouting.
