A 51-year-old Egg Harbor Township woman was arrested March 7 and charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
Bridget McGettigan-Healy was an employee of Smithville Jewelers where she allegedly stole jewelry and sold it at numerous cash-for-gold businesses in Egg Harbor Township, police said.
She was arrested at 10:22 p.m. and charged with theft of jewelry in Galloway Township, and receiving stolen property and theft by deception in Egg Harbor Township.
The exact amount of theft was not known. McGettigan-Healy was released on summonses.
Police said the newly incorporated computer tracking system of second-hand precious metals, RAPID, aided in determining the thefts.
