Matthews completes basic training
Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Brandon L. Matthews graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Matthews earned distinction as an honor graduate.
He is the son of Todd Matthews, of Egg Harbor Township, and is a 2009 graduate of Egg Harbor Township High School.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
