Through the end of the year, operators are waiving the $1 one-way fare to help residents who have been hurt by Hurricane Sandy.

It is a cooperative public-private effort of the Pascale Sykes Foundation, Atlantic County, South Jersey Transportation Authority and Cross County Connection. Its primary goal is to improve access to employment and education opportunities, medical and social services. Stops include the Family Service Association, AtlantiCare Health Complex, the Atlantic City International Airport, FAA William J. Town hall meeting set

The Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center of Margate will host a town hall style meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Linwood Country Club, 500 Shore Road, Linwood, to seek input from the residents of Linwood, Northfield, Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township on a JCC Mainland Campus.

The Katz JCC wants to hear from the residents about what they want and what they think of a JCC on the mainland. Plans are being evaluated for the development of a Katz JCC Mainland Campus with the initial ideas to include an indoor competitive-sized Olympic swimming pool and an outdoor swimming complex with child-friendly amenities. Additional amenities would be developed in the future, guided by input from the residents.
