Community shuttle expands service
Nine months after its first bus took to the road, the English Creek-Tilton Road Community Shuttle is improving its services with the addition of more buses and more free connections to NJ Transit bus routes, effective July 1.
The shuttle launched service Oct. 1 along an 18-mile route between Egg Harbor Township and Northfield. The new schedule includes 14 designated stops, five that provide customers with free access to NJ Transit routes 502, 507 and 509 to extend users’ travel to Somers Point, Ocean City, Atlantic City and Mays Landing. The one-way shuttle fare remains $1.
The shuttle will continue to run seven days per week with service between 7 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Buses will run about every 45 minutes rather than every two hours. The shuttle offers full accessibility. Service animals and portable oxygen tanks are permitted. For customer assistance for those with special needs, an NJ Relay Operator is available at 800-852-7899 or 711.
The English Creek-Tilton Road Community Shuttle is a public-private cooperative effort of the Pascale Sykes Foundation, Atlantic County, South Jersey Transportation Authority, Cross County Connection and Family Service Association.
