Yogathon to benefit American Cancer Society

It's a day of yoga for a good cause on May 3 as the Down to Fight Cancer Yogathon takes place at the Scullville Fire Hall, 1708 Somers Point-Mays Landing Road, Egg Harbor Township. The schedule, which features instructors from several local yoga studios, is as follows:

8 a.m. Baptiste Flow taught by Kiersten Gant, Grace and Glory Yoga

9:15 a.m. Power Flow taught by Jessica Schultz, Om Room and Yoga Dog

10:30 a.m. Pilates taught by Marlena Baylinson, Breathe

11:45 a.m. Vinyasa Flow taught by Melissa Goldstein, NJ Yoga Zone

1 p.m. Slow Flow taught by Julie Goebel Schock, Yoga Dog and Myoga

2:15 p.m. Power Vinyasa taught by Tracy Wilson, Yoga Dog

3:30 p.m. Yin Yoga taught by Becky Lyons, Fitness Yoga, Laughing Buddha and Power Yogi

Tickets for the Yogathon may be purchased at Grace and Glory Yoga, Yoga Dog and NJ Yoga Zone, or by calling 609-241-5059 or 609-204-4528. A $30 donation covers the full day of classes and the after-party at Clancy's. The post-yoga celebration starts at 6 p.m. at Clancy's by the Bay, 101 E. Maryland Ave., Somers Point. Admission to the Clancy's party only is a $10 donation and includes food and a chance at raffle prizes.

Nature Reserve plans cleanup

The Egg Harbor Township Nature Reserve plans its Spring Clean Up, with the meeting time at 8:30 a.m. May 3.

Participants are asked to meet at the reserve's parking lot off Zion Road, and the cleanup will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. All are welcome.
