Riggins Oil has recalled kerosene sold at two service stations in Egg Harbor Township and Pleasantville over the past week.
Kerosene sold at the stations between Dec. 10 and 14 is being recalled while the Vineland-based company investigates potential reports of contamination that may make the product unsafe.
President Paul Riggins said the kerosene’s flash point is low, causing it to burn too quickly.
“We had two customers complain,” he said. “We thought it was more prudent to get it all back.”
The affected stations are at 6710 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township and 901 N. New Road in Pleasantville.
Riggins Oil distributes home heating oil and operates about 30 fueling stations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
