An approximately three-hour search Monday night was able to locate a missing 7-year-old who had walked away from a residence at the Tilton Garden Apartments in the Cardiff section of Egg Harbor Township.
Township police began the search just after 10 p.m. Monday after responding to a call for help, and were assisted by the K-9 Unit from the Somers Point Police Department, the K-9 Unit from the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office and firefighters from the Cardiff Volunteer Fire company.
The child was located at about 1:12 a.m. by officers and firefighters near the Police Athletic League Center on Tilton Road.
The child was checked out by the township Ambulance Squad and turned over to the parents.
