A house fire Sunday morning in the Farmington section of Egg Harbor Township displaced six residents, officials say.
Chief Len Tilley, of the Farmington Volunteer Fire Company, said no injuries were reported in the blaze, which was reported at 8:52 a.m. The American Red Cross was on scene to find shelter for the residents, he said.
Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting through the roof and heavy smoke conditions at the home on Stafford Avenue, he said.
Tilley said the blaze was brought under control within 30 to 45 minutes. The fire still is under investigation, he said, with the cause as yet unknown.
Police closed a portion of Fire Road for a brief period Saturday morning as fire engines responded to the call.
