Castello on dean’s list

Laura Castello, of Egg Harbor Township, has been named to Millersville University of Pennsylvania’s dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester.

The 1,484 students named to Millersville University’s dean’s list earned a semester grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher and attempted at least 12 credits of course work.

Villanova students graduate

The following students were among the graduates at Villanova University in Pennsylvania during spring commencement in May 19:

Alexis Nowatcki, of Egg Harbor Township, earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering;

Norman White, of Egg Harbor Township, earned a bachelor of arts.

Students graduate from Delaware Valley College

Thomas Dugan and Jeffrey Sennett, both of Egg Harbor Township, were among the May 2013 graduates at Delaware Valley College.

Delaware Valley College is an independent, multi-disciplinary college with property in Bucks and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania.

Somers on dean’s list

Bernard Somers, of Egg Harbor Township, a sophomore with a neuroscience major in Scranton’s College of Arts and Sciences, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.

To qualify, students must have a grade- point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours.

Searle honored for academic achievement

Cazenovia (N.Y.) College recently released names of students honored for academic achievement during the spring semester of 2013, including Charlie C. Searle, of Egg Harbor Township. Those named to the dean’s list have achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average for all courses attempted, and have earned 12 or more academic credits during the semester.

Searle, a graduate of Egg Harbor Township High School, is a senior majoring in fashion design.

Flick on dean’s list

Rachael Flick, of Egg Harbor Township, was named to the dean’s list at the University of New Haven for the spring 2013 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the dean’s list.

Atlantic Cape athletes honored for academics

Atlantic Cape Community College student-athletes Abdul Abubakar, of Egg Harbor Township, Danielle Kebert, of North Cape May, Kerry Player, of Woodbine, and Sarah Street, of Egg Harbor City, have received national academic awards by the National Junior College Athletic Association for their exemplary achievement during the 2012-2013 academic year.

Abubakar, 22, plays defense on the men’s soccer team. He has maintained a 4.0 GPA, and received the NJCAA Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence.
