A Galloway K-9 officer and dog tracked a burglary suspect last week to his home.
Police responded to the 700 block of Wood Lane for a burglary in progress at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said in a release.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. A Samsung 50-inc television and Xbox video game were taken from an enclosed porch area of the residence but were located outside nearby.
K-9 Officer Scott Winneberger and his dog Lycos conducted a track of the suspect that led to a home on the 700 block of Cheltenham Avenue – about a quarter of a mile away.
At the residence police found Ricardo Rodriguez, 26, who fit the suspect’s description and was “out of breath, sweating profusely.”
Rodriguez was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants out of Egg Harbor Township and charged with burglary/theft, police said.
He was transported to Atlantic County jail on $50,000 cash bail.
