GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Police arrested an Ocean County man who was caught during an alleged burglary Tuesday afternoon.

Just after 2 p.m., Tuesday, township police received a 911 call from a woman who reported that a man had attempted to gain access to her home through an unlocked rear window.

Police then responded to the 700 Block of South Seventh Avenue for a report of a burglary in progress.

A man fled on foot and was later apprehended by officers while allegedly fleeing from a second residence police say he burglarized on the 300 block of East Arbutus Avenue.

Officer James Mulholland arrested Kurt F. Moyer, 45, of Toms River, and he was charged with burglary, theft, criminal attempt at burglary and resisting arrest, police said.

Moyer was taken to Atlantic County jail on $65,000 cash bail.

All property allegedly stolen by Moyer from the 300 block of East Arbutus was recovered by the police officers and returned to the homeowner.
