A Staten Island woman was arrested on charges of stealing about $2,000 worth of jewelry from a Galloway Township store Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Marilyn A Mazzella, 29, took several items from Smithville Jewelers on North New York Road at 3:48 p.m., police said. She then fled the store in her vehicle but was pulled over by officers who responded to the scene.

Mazzellawas charged with shoplifting, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, police said. She was taken to Atlantic County jail on $7,500 cash bail.
