A white box truck driving south on the Garden State Parkway left the roadway and struck a tree just after 2 p.m. Friday, police said.
The driver of the vehicle was trapped but was removed from the truck at 2:25 p.m., State Police spokesman Lt. Stephen Jones said.
Galloway Township EMS responded to the scene and the driver suffered a head and possible hand injury, Jones said.
Troopers were called to the scene to inspect the truck and the investigation is continuing, he said.
Jones said 32-year-old Mustapha Tazi of Jersey City was issued a careless driving ticket, following an investigation of the crash. A cause of the crash was not determined, he said.
Tazi was treated and and released from Atlanticare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus.
