Two honorees were presented Tuesday with veterans advocacy awards named after a Linwood woman who was found slain in her home a year ago.

The first annual “April Kauffman Veterans Advocacy Award” was held at Richard Stockton College. Donna Clementoni, public relations and communications coordinator for The Judge Group, and veterans advocate Lee Darby received the award.

The killing of Kauffman, a New Jersey radio personality and veterans advocate, shocked the local community, and many local veterans came to her funeral to show their respect.

Clementoni, Darby and Kauffman worked together to raise money for the Stockton Student Veterans Organization’s scholarship event, which supports local veteran charities.

The Judge Group is working with the Philadelphia Soul to sponsor the first ever Speed Career Networking Event for transitioning military service members, wounded warriors, veterans and military spouses. The event will be held at the Wells Fargo Center’s Cadillac Grille in Philadelphia from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
