Two Richard Stockton College students camped outside the U.S. Supreme Court for two nights to hear oral arguments on the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act on Wednesday.

Nicole Chamra, 21, of Carteret, Middlesex County, and Taylor Ruggieri, 21, of Flemington, Hunterdon County, missed getting in Tuesday but were among the 50 people allowed in Wednesday, the college said in a statement.

“It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience and opportunity,” said Chamra, who plans to attend law school. “We felt it was important to be in something that was literally marking history.”
