An alleged drunken driver severed a utility pole and crashed into a Mays Landing home early Saturday morning, police said.

Hamilton Township police responded to the crash in the 6000 block of Main Street at about 3:54 a.m. A Chevrolet Silverado pick-up had run off the road, striking and severing a utility pole before hitting the residence.

Mark Stebbins, Jr., 23, of Mays Landing, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated as well as several motor vehicle violations.

Police say there were no injuries to the residents or Stebbins. The damage did not displace the residents.

The roadway was blocked for about one and a half hours. Power was restored by 2 p.m.
