Police arrest two Mays Landing men on drug charges

Police arrested Jeffrey Hemling, 30, of Mays Landing, on multiple drug charges Wednesday morning.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — Two men were arrested on drug charges Wednesday morning when police and the Atlantic County SWAT team executed two search warrants in the Cologne Gardens apartment complex.

Harold Miller, 34, and Jeffrey Hemling, 30, both of Mays Landing, were charged with third-degree possession of heroin with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of Percocet with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute in a school zone and third-degree conspiracy to possess and distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

Municipal Court Judge H. Robert Switzer set bail for Miller at $100,000 full cash and Hemling at $50,000 full cash. Miller also had a no-bail warrant from township police in connection with a 2013 robbery. Both men were lodged in the Atlantic County jail.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit, Egg Harbor Township police, Hamilton Township Rescue Squad and AtlantiCare paramedics also assisted with the search warrants.
