Bill Beyers and Kewy Santana have been nominated by the Hamilton Township Democratic Committee to run for Township Committee seats in November.
Beyers is a longtime resident of the Laureldale section of the township and co-founder of Barbarito & Beyers Preschools along with his wife, Janice Barbarito. Possessing a doctorate in early and middle childhood education in addition to a master’s degree, Beyers previously served on the Township Committee in 2007, filling a vacant seat as part of a transition.
Santana, a resident of the Cologne section, has been a Galloway Township Middle School teacher since 2003. A community volunteer and teacher since 1999, she is married to Pedro Santana, dean of students at Richard Stockton College.
Both are unopposed among Democrats and will face Republican incumbents Roger Silva and Amy Gatto in November. Democrats are trying to regain control of the committee, and could do so by unseating Silva or Gatto and retaining seats now held by Democrats Rodney Guishard and Judy Link.
