Hamilton Township police arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting three females, including two who were juveniles at the time of the alleged attacks.

Shawn Taraba, 21, of Mays Landing, was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, third-degree aggravated assault and third-degree criminal restraint, police said. He was transported to Atlantic County jail on more than $300,000 cash bail.

Police said that on May 5 a sexual assault was reported that occurred in July 2011 in Mays Landing against a then 14-year-old girl.

Detectives Frank Schalek and Larry Fernan investigated the case, and during the course of the investigation they learned of two more incidents against women ages 17 and 20, Capt. Michael Petuskey said.

The attacks all occurred in Mays Landing and at least one occurred within the last two months, he said.

“The charges were due to the fine work of the two detectives,” he said. “They did an outstanding job.”
