Longbeards plan annual banquet

The Tri County Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will host its thrid annual Hunting Heritage Banquet on Aug. 24 at the Weymouth Fire Hall.

In the past year, among its accomplishments, the chapter has raised $14,000 for wildlife and habitat conservation, and has awarded $3,000 in scholarships to two South Jersey students. The chapter also supported the state Division of fish and Wildlife with transportation boxes for wild turkey trapping and transplanting, as well as volunteers to support the project.

The banquet takes place at the Weymouth Fire Hall, 7372 Black Horse Pike. Tickets are $65 each or $90 for couples and include dinner and a year’s membership to the NWTF. Sponsor memberships cost $285 and include all above, $100 in raffle tickets and bonus tickets.
