Davies holding Walk for Water

May 18 will be a day full of activities at Davies Middle School as it celebrates its 25th anniversary and holds its annual Walk for Water service project.

The day will start with the walk, which includes a 6K run, a 1-1/4 mile walk and a 1 mile fun run for kids, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The walk is to raise awareness and funds to assist Plan International USA, a nonprofit that provides clean drinking water for impoverished regions like Burkina Faso.

The 25th anniversary celebration will follow the Walk for Water and will run from about noon to 3 p.m. The school will be open for visitors to tour, look through old yearbooks and photo albums, and a time capsule will be opened.

Vendors and food will be available all day during both events. Davies is looking for participants and sponsors.

Oakcrest Wall of Fame nominees needed
