Oakcrest High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) co-advisers math teacher Charles Wyckoff, of the Bargaintown section of Egg Harbor Township, and science teacher Greg Guyon, of Seaville, Cape May County, and student Gabby Giordano, of Mays Landing, discussed the recent prayer vigil at the school in honor of the Sandy Hook shooting victims.
Oakcrest High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes co-adviser Charles Wyckoff, of the Bargaintown section of Egg Harbor Township, said of the vigil, ‘All of a sudden, there were 10 teachers out there, then you had support staff out there, and then a few students showed up in cars and then the buses let out. All of a sudden it was over 100 students.’
Oakcrest High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes co-adviser and science teacher Greg Guyon, of the Seaville section of Upper Township, Cape May County, said, ‘I heard from different teachers that students were talking all day about how they prayed for these (victims).’
Oakcrest junior Gabby Giordano, of Mays Landing, said, ‘I didn’t think anybody was going to come ... but for the kind of event it was, everyone came out and supported. It was cool to see.’
