Hamilton Police said an overturned dump truck shut the westbound lanes of Route 322 at Leipzig Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

No injuries were reported, though roadways- including turn lanes for Leipzig Avenue- were shut down for several hours.

The investigation revealed a 1995 dump truck driven by Robert Oglesby Jr, 27, of Egg Harbor Township, was westbound on Route 322 and unable to stop when the light at the intersection turned red, police said.

Oglesby swerved onto the shoulder to avoid another vehicle in the westbound lane, and had to swerve again to avoid a vehicle entering the intersection at Leipzig Avenue, police said.

He overcompensated causing the truck to roll onto the driver's side and into the median, spilling topsoil that was in the truck onto the roadway.

About 20 gallons of fuel from the truck also spilled onto the road, police said.

Police said the roads were clear at about 4 p.m.

Oglesby was issued a traffic citations for careless driving.
