Power has been restored to the more than 1,500 customers in Hamilton Township who were without electricity for nearly an hour Saturday afternoon.

Among the customers affected were the Hamilton Mall and the Walmart in Mays Landing, both places packed with holiday shoppers.

Both buildings were evacuated briefly, according to Twitter and online reports.

The outage stretched from the Black Horse Pike to Tilton Road, between Wrangleboro Road and Cologne Avenue. The outage was reported at 3:15 p.m.
